KATANA's NARRATION
"Wengya naman, Lindsay! May balak ka bang pasaan ang maganda kong mukha?! Napreno ka agad eh!"
The blaring sound of the car stopped the moment it halt. Amber's yell conquered the car. I cannot help but glare at her through the rear mirror. We are in a small crammed space and yelling doesn't help.
"I had to brake! We could've seen in the CCTV if I got even an inch farther." Agad namang paliwanag ni Lindsay. Yeah, an inch farther and this whole mission would be at stake.
"Okay lang, ate Lindsay. Ate Amber is really exaggerated lang. We're fine naman." Said Emerald who was sitting with Amber at the back seat.
"Settle yourselves. We hafta move in three minutes." I announced to cut the chitchat and save time.
Mabilis naman silang nagsipagkilos para asikasuhin ang mga sarili. As for me, I fished the Margarette 89 pistol under my seat and put it in a gun belt I am wearing together with the two flashbang. The next thing I took was the semi-automatic pistol placed in the car's ceiling. It's one that is too easy to use because I can shoot multiple bullets in a round. I also picked other necessary items hidden in the car. Damn those checkpoints! Acting innocent is easy, wasting time is annoying.
After three minutes or so, I threw them a glance and learned that they are all set. When I met Lindsay's gaze, we both knew what we were going to do. As if on cue, lumabas na ako sa passenger seat at si Lindsay sa driver's seat. Amber immediately occupied the driver's seat while Emerald took the passenger's. They are both in formal attire while Lindsay and I are in our black fitted outfit. It's a good thing to be team up with Lindsay. At least I can say my ears would be safe.
"So, 'yun pala ang Williams?" Lindsay spoke. "Mas malaki kaysa sa inaasahan ko."
Nang sundan ko ang tinitingnan niya ay nakita ko ang isang malaking building na hindi na malayo sa amin. From this abandoned building, we can already clearly see the whole William's property that has been built amidst isolation. Mga kakahuyan, lumang factory at purong lupain lang ang makikitang katabi ng buong lugar. It's actually ironic to build the main building of a corporation in that place considering that William's Corp. is a very high-style technology company. But that is built there for reasons; to avoid passerby's and so intruders; to be hidden in public and rivals; to secure their latest models; and to completely shield the things they've stolen.
"Yeah and we will be there in five minutes. Might be ten if we wouldn't move here." Sagot ko kay Lindsay na siya namang nagpakilos sa kaniya.
Pumunta na ako sa likod ng sasakyan at inilalagay sa kaliwang tenga ko ang isang maliit na earpiece device habang naglalakad. Nang makarating sa likod ng sasakyan ay nakita kong binubuksan na ni Lindsay ang compartment. In a second, bumungad sa aming dalawa ang mga gadgets at technical parts ng iba't ibang technology na puro naka-bubble wrap pa. In just a glance, anyone would know that these are all valuable and premium. I must say Raven got his stuffs well too picked.
Hinanap namin ni Lindsay sa mga gamit ang dalawang pares ng magnetic haft na gagamitin namin. Those are just handles that is, from the name itself, magnetic. They are usually in use when we are climbing a building since its magnet is way too strong, enough to carry an 80kg person. But this time, it's not for buildings but car.
Nang makuha na namin ang magnetic haft ay nauna na si Lindsay na gumapang papunta sa ilalim ng sasakyan. Nang nasa tamang posisyon na ay tumihaya siya saka gamit ang dalawang hawak na magnetic haft ay kumapit siya sa mga bakal na nasa ilalim ng sasakyan. Nang okay na siya ay ako naman ang gumapang papasok and did exactly what she did. It's just that, she's on the left side while I'm in right. For our feet, we had magnetic anklets on it. Pero nakakapit pa rin kami sa ilang parte ng sasakyan.
"We're set." I told Emerald and Amber through the earpiece device the moment I got my position.
[Erkey. Ngayon, simulan na natin ang byahe ng maganda niyong lingkod] Amber spoke.
I badly wanted to curse out loud when Amber started driving! This is why Lindsay was the one who drove. Amber and Emerald are mad drivers. And right now, parang gusto kong bumitaw sa magnetic haft. Paano ba nakapasa sa driving test ang taong hindi marunong magmaneho ng diretso at walang consistent na andar?
I was almost eating the smoke from the car and the dust from the road. I might die in suffocation. Thanks to the mask I was wearing, I survived. I sighed in relief when the car stopped. We have finally arrived in the target's property based on Emerald's update.
Nangangalay na ako sa paghawak sa magnetic haft. Practically, binubuhat namin ang sarili namin sa loob ng limang minuto na nandito kami sa ilalim ng sasakyan. I scanned the area from my spot and knew that our car has been already surrounded by the armed well-built men-in-black. At base sa mga paang nakikita ko, mayroong walong lalaki ang nakapalibot sa sasakyan. The two were in the back, checking the compartment of the car. Iniisa-isa nilang tanggalin ang mga naka-bubble wrap na gamit.
The whole William's main building is heavily guarded both by armed men and CCTV. Hindi nakakapagtaka na walo agad ang lumapit para lang i-check ang dumating. There are other thirty men around and fifty CCTVs in different areas. Number of CCTVs doesn't matter. It always has a blind spot. All that matters is the timing. As for men...
[We have an appointment with Mr. Okuda] Naririnig kong nagsasalita si Amber at kinakausap ang lalaking kinatok ang bintana nya.
Nakita ko na bumaba ang paa ni Amber mula sa driver seat at siya ang kumausap sa mga lalaki na nasa side ni Lindsay. Bumaba naman ang paa ni Emerald at siya naman ang kumausap sa mga lalaki na nasa side ko. Ilang segundo lang, ang mga lalaking kinakausap nila ay nasa likuran na rin ng sasakyan. They were arguing about how they would allow Emerald and Amber in. Then, I heard Mikaela's voice. She was disguised as one of the female guards. She joined the discussion.
[Lindsay and Katana, update]
We all heard Duchess's voice from the other line the moment Emerald and Amber gathered the men at the back of the car. She's the one assigned to be the look out of the group from the outside the perimeter. The sniper of this mission and the detractor as well.
"We are ready." Lindsay was the one who answered.
[In the count of three, okay?] Duchess's voice. Nakarinig kami ng ilang mga buton na pinindot saka namin narinig ang kaniyang pagbilang. [Here we go. Three... two... one!]
One loud explosion prepared by Duchess from near the entrance has been heard and caught every single men-in-black's eyes. It's our time to move! Lindsay and I exchanged quick nods before we quickly let our body fall on the cold cement with the magnetic haft and split up while everyone is busy looking at the explosion. In our own fastest way, gumulong ako pakanan at siya pakaliwa. In just mere five seconds, nakarating ako sa aking destinasyon.
[Whoa! Ang lakas ng ginawang bomba ni Kayden] Komento pa ni Duchess.
["Arrived"] Halos sabay namang sabi namin ni Lindsay nang hinihingal.
To be specific, parehas kami ni Lindsay na nakaposisyon sa poste na nasa gilid ng entrance ng building. The entrance is kinda fancy in a way na maraming malalaking poste. At dahil napag-aralan na namin ang lugar, alam na namin ni Lindsay ang eksaktong puwesto at tamang poste kung saan kami pupunta nang hindi nakikita ng mga bantay. As for the CCTVs, as I've said earlier, it all takes timing. We were able to be in position just exactly when the CCTV in the hallway for the entrance could not spot us.
Tumingala ako at nakita ang mataas na kisame ng hallway na siyang tinatayuan ng posteng pinagtataguan ko at ng iba pang poste. Just as we have investigated, it was really high. Maybe fourty feet. And that is exactly what we can use for our advantage.
Inalis ko sa suot kong belt ang gun rope. It was a high-tech gun that releases solid rope rather than bullets. Itinutok ko ito sa mataas na kisame at mabilis na kinalabit ang gatilyo. Sa loob ng limang segundo ay bumaon ang matulis na bakal sa kisame. Saktong pagbaon naman nito ay hinila ako ng hawak kong baril patungo sa kinasasadlakan ng dulo sa pinakamabilis nitong paraan. I made a tumbling amidst the air and so, my feet ended up glued on the ceiling. I don't know what the hell Lindsay put on our shoes but it lets us walk on the ceiling.
My hair was tied in one bun so I didn't have to worry about it falling. I looked at Lindsay's direction. She was far away from me since we ran in different direction but I can clearly see her from here. Katulad ko ay nagtayo na siya sa kisame sa pamamagitan ng mga sapatos naming nakadikit sa kisame na parang isang magnet. I balanced myself and when I already think I had the right position, inugong ko ang sarili na parang isang duyan. Mahina na palakas nang palakas. The fifth time was the hardest swing which made my hands successfully hold onto the ceiling as well.
[It's cool. Pero kinakabahan pa din ako na baka bumagsak ako bigla] Natatawang sabi ni Lindsay na narinig ko mula sa earpiece.
I plastered a half-smile saka sya sinulyapan. "We should trust Raven's stuffs." Then I gave her an okay sign before I turned my back to her. "Now, let's start this game."
Gaya kanina ay magkaibang direksyon ang dinaanan namin ni Lindsay. Siya patungo sa kaliwa at ako patungo sa kanan. I started crawling at the corner of the ceiling wherein I can hide in paintings and shaped stone whenever I have to to remain unnoticed. Nakakabit ang mga CCTV sa mas mababang parte ng poste kaya hindi kami nahahagip nito. Pero kung nakalugay ang buhok namin ni Lindsay, malamang na makikita kami.
I saw Emerald and Amber who were being assisted by the stupid guards who don't notice me. Well, it's not really normal for people to just suddenly look up. But they should've felt my tiptoe or even just my glance. Whatever the case is, I can use that in my advantage. I knew they were talking about the appointment Amber and Emerald had with Mr. Okuda who has one of the big names in William's Corporation.
I continued crawling until I reached the end of the hallway. As I've seen in the blueprint we had, the end of this hallway was the aircon passage kung saan ako dadaan para makapasok sa mismong building. Maingat kong tinanggal ang harang saka nagsimulang gumapang papasok. When I successfully squeezed myself in, ibinalik ko na ang harang. I cannot afford to leave traces.
In my silent pace, I continued crawling inside the aircon passage while looking below. Nakikita ko na ang ilang hallway dahil sa see-through na harang. I saw some armed men walking and some businessmen talking. Two minutes of crawling until I reached the first intersection in this aircon passage. I stopped and checked my wrist watch. Not your normal wrist watch. Pinindot ko ang ikalawang button sa gilid nito dahilan para mapalitan ang time screen ng tracker.
This high-tech wrist watch showed me where I am. Dito nakainstall ang soft copy ng blueprint ng William's Corp at ngayon ay ipinapakita sa akin ang lokasyon ko sa loob nito. Hanggang 70 meters lang ang ipinapakita ng tracker at ang neon green dot ay ako. Mayroong red arrow na nakaturo pakanan na syang nagsasabi kung nasaan ang target room ko. Ibinalik ko na sa time screen ang wrist watch matapos kong malaman ang tamang daan.
Lumiko ako sa kanan at nagpatuloy sa paggapang. I check my tracker from time to time just to make sure I'm going to the right direction. It took me three minutes or so before I had to stop again. This time, not to check the tracker but to wait.
Kailangan ko nang bumaba ng aircon passage na 'to at dumaan sa hallway. But right now, I can't. May dalawang tao sa ibaba. It was Amber and her target--Mr. Okuda. The 69 yrs old businessman. Pare-parehas kaming nasa isang opisina na sa tingin ko ay pag-aari ni Mr. Okuda. I was in the aircon passage just exactly above them who was busy seducing each other. Nakaupo sa swivel chair nya si Mr. Okuda habang nakakalong naman sa hita niya si Amber na nakasuot ng maikling office skirt at manipis na office blouse.
[“Mister Okuda..”] I heard Amber's forced sweet talk. Saka sya gumuhit ng linya mula sa dibdib ng matandang lalaki pababa sa tyan nito sa paraang nang aakit. [“Nadadaan naman ako sa lambing”]
I held my breathe and closed my eyes, trying to control my temper and prolong my patience. Oh no. Please tell me I wouldn't have to witness this shit. Dammit, Amber Lamperouge. Dammit, fucking really. Ang usapan ay gagawin nya yan bago ako makarating sa opisina nila gamit ang aircon passage. Art of seduction is a very useful tactic for us. Amber Lamperouge is outstanding in this. But I never dreamt of seeing her seducing skills live. It seems like I am destined to though.
["Miss Wenchester. You are known as a very sophisticated lady. I didn't know you would do such a thing just to make me approve your proposal."] Mr. Okuda uttered with a sly smile in his japanese accent.
Amber showed him a sweet smile. ["Guess I wouldn't mind doing it if it's for my job and it would be with a good-looking guy."] Saka niya sinimulang tanggalin nang dahan-dahan ang neck tie na suot suot ng matanda.
I rolled my eyes heavenwards. Fight the guts to throw them your knives, Katana. Amber is hiding behind the name Sarah Wenchester. We manipulated the person Mr. Okuda assigned to do a background check to "Sarah Wenchester". Nagpakita kami ng iba't ibang dokumento at pinalabas naming isa siyang mayamang tao sa America.
["Would you mind if this would take too long?"] Nakangising tanong ni Mr. Okuda saka hinapit papalapit si Amber sa kaniya na impit namang ngumiti na akala mo talaga eh natutuwa.
Gross. Gross. Fucking gross.
Amber's main target is Okuda Miso, a wealthy japaneseman who has big name in William's Corp. and has access on it. Her main plan is not to make the japanese guy approve her proposal but to copy his iris. As I've said earlier, William's Corp. is a high-style tech company. Of course, natural na maging mahigpit sila sa security in their own technical way. Ang iris ng mga VIPs ang tanging access para makapasok sa mga pinaka importanteng kwarto sa buong gusali.
Little did they know, we have our own way to deal with their stupid security. Raven is not just a computer freak, he's also our supplier in terms of things and by the use of his stuffs, Amber is going to copy the old man's iris. She was wearing a high-tech lense that is capable of copying one's iris kung makikipagtitigan siya sa iris for ten minutes sa distansyang three inches. Ang proseso ng pagkopya ay magsisimula kapag tumitig na siya ng tatlumpung segundo. Which means, basta nakatitigan na nya ang tao for thirty seconds, pwede na niyang ma-copy ang iris nito sa loob ng paputol-putol na sampung minuto. And the perfect way to do that copying is through flirting.
Amber cupped his face. ["I wouldn't even mind if I would have to make a show for you."] She then slowly flipped her hair in her flirty way.
["Why don't we begin with the first button, sexy?"] Nakangising sagot ni Mr. Okuda at tumitig sa dibdib ni Amber.
I caught a flicker of annoyance in Amber's eyes but it automatically turned back into sweet smile saka niya hinawakan sa baba ang matanda at muling pinatitig sa mata niya.
["No. We should start here."] Amber bit her lower lips with temptation and winked.
The japanese guy's maniacal laugh echoed inside the room. ["You are seriously amusing me, Miss Wenchester."]
Humagikhik naman si Amber sa nakakairitang malanding paraan. ["You can stop calling me Miss Wenchester and start calling me ‘sweetie’ instead."] Saka niya inilagay sa batok ng matanda ang dalawang matanda.
I closed my eyes. "Oh please." I silently whispered.
Duchess laughed from the other line. [Alam kong naiirita ka na, Katana. Don't worry. Ten seconds nalang]
Duchess started counting from ten to one kasabay ng patuloy na pagpapalitan nina Amber at Mr. Okuda ng malalaswang salita. Pagsabing-pagsabi naman ni Duchess ng one na ang ibig sabihin ay tapos na ang pagkokopya, bigla nalang inilabas ni Amber ang maliit na baril na nasa sandals niya at ipinutok iyon sa mismong gitna ng noo ng matanda saka parang nandidiring lumayo dito.
Tumingin siya sa direksyon ko. "Katana. Pwede ka nang lumabas."
Agad ko namang sinipa pababa ang harang ng aircon passage at tumalon pababa. I threw her a piercing glare. Mukhang alam niyang ang matagal niyang mission ang dahilan ng matalim kong tingin kaya agad syang sumagot.
"Wengya! Chillax ka lang, Katana. Ang dami kasing harang sa hallway kaya natagalan ako sa pagdiretso sa mission ko, erkey?" She then flipped her hair. "Nairita din kaya ako sa kapangahasan ng matandang huklubang 'yan sa kagandahan ko. Ew." Saka niya pinagpag ang braso na parang diring-diri.
I tsked and walked towards her. "Do we have a license to kill?"
Parang do'n lang naman niya na-realize ang ginawa niyang pagpapaputok sa matanda. "W-Wengya. Walang sinabi si Trigger na pwede tayong mangtumba pero wala din naman siyang sinabing bawal."
I sighed. Killing should be later. Inilahad ko ang palad ko sa kaniya. Tinaasan naman niya ako ng kilay na parang nagtatanong kung ano ang hinihingi ko. I simply uttered, 'Lense' na agad na niyang naintindihan. Mabilis niyang tinanggal ang lense na ginamit niya sa pagkopya ng iris ni Mr. Okuda saka iyon inilagay sa lalagyan nito at inabot sa akin na kinuha ko naman.
Matapos ang sa lenses ay nagpalit naman agad kami ni Amber ng pang-ibabaw na damit. I can't walk outside wearing this agent outfit, can I? So I had to wear Amber's office suit. Nang matapos naman akong magbihis ay pumunta na ako sa table ni Mr. Okuda at binuksan ang laptop niya. Tinulak naman ni Amber si Mr. Okuda at tumabi sa akin.
"Lindsay." I called.
[Here] Sumagot naman agad ni Lindsay.
"Have you already insinuated the control room?" Tanong ko.
[Nope. Not yet. Isang opisina nalang at makakapunta na ako doon. But don't worry, you can now connect the transmitter]
"Alright." Simpleng sagot ko.
Lindsay do not bear the surname Lee for nothing. Yes, Raven is the computer freak of Black Organization. But if there's someone who can compete with him? It would be Lindsay. And right now that we are splitted into two groups by gender, Lindsay is undoubtedly the computer freak of girls group. Her target is the control room. Her mission is to take control of it. Pero kailangan niyang pumunta sa ilang mga kwarto at i-bug ang laptops ng mga nandoon para sa dalawang dahilan; for our own advantage and to remove their copies of CCTVs.
Kinabit ko na ang transmitter. Ito naman ay para may kopya si Duchess na nasa labas. As the sniper of the group from the outside, she needs to be updated as well. Isa pa, siya din ang mag-aassist sa amin palabas ng lugar. Pagkakabit ko ay pumunta na ako sa main setting ng laptop at inallow ang transmitter. I'm not as good as Raven nor Lindsay but just like everyone else in the group, I know some computer stuff that normal people don't.
A few minutes and the monitor flashed the CCTVs of the whole building. God, now I'm wondering how Lindsay and Raven manage to properly assist us without getting confuse of this hundreds of footages? Nang matapos ang pagtatransmit ko mula sa loob papunta sa laptop ni Duchess na nasa labas ay nagpaalam na ako kay Amber para umalis. Pero hindi ko pa man nabubuksan ang pinto para lumabas ay may kumatok na nito.
[May VIP'ng dumating] Mikaela's late announcement.
Parehas kaming nagkatinginan ni Amber. Tss. Too much nuisance. Tinapunan ko ng makahulugan na tingin si Amber na mabilis namang lumapit. Kinuha ko ang baril na nasa hita ko saka pumwesto sa likuran ng pinto. She gave me a look asking for permission. I gave her a quick nod and positioned my gun right infront of my chest. Binuksan ni Amber ang pinto at hindi pa man siya nakakapagsalita ay pumasok na ang isang babae.
Mabilis kong idinikit ang malamig na bunganga ng baril sa likod ng ulo ng babaeng pumasok. "Don't move." With threating tone, I said.
Siya namang pagsara ni Amber ng pinto ay tinulak ko papasok ang babae. Papunta sa mesa ni Mr. Okuda. Hinawakan ni Amber ang dalawang kamay nito sa likuran at pinadikit ang ulo sa mesa.
Matunog syang ngumisi. "As expected. Black Organization is still on the track."
"Yeah and with much more dangerous people." I answered before I let Amber pin her.
I took a glimpse on the face of the girl before I held my earpiece device the moment I took a step backward. "Caliber 45. It's Thania Laurine Mendez."
I used a codename. Even if there's a high possibility that this Thania Laurine Mendez will die today, importante pa ring unahin namin ang pagtatago ng identity ng isa't isa. And if you're going to ask who the hell is Caliber 45, obviously, it's Emerald. We all studied the profiles that are affiliated in William's Corp. but the one assigned to focus on it was Emerald.
[Ehem. Thania Laurine Mendez She's a 27-years-old stockholder of William's Corp and holds almost 40% of the company. Ayaw nyang nagpapaschedule tuwing pupunta siya dyan so that's why she was not part of our Plan A. We should proceed to Plan D. Doon siya kasama]
Tumingin sa akin si Amber matapos na magsalita ni Emerald. She was asking me for a license for her to kill. "Keep her. We might get some information." Sabi ko saka nagsimulang maglakad papalayo para umalis.
But then, Thania laughed, one loud demonic laugh. "You think I'm going to spit all the information out?! You wish, Katana bitch Roswell!"
I stopped and gritted my teeth. I knew she knows me. Sa kabila ng pagtanggal ng pictures ko sa iba't ibang site, there are still some elite who knows my face. And I guess she's one of them. I immediately took out my gun and shot her head without even looking at her. My patience isn’t that long, you freak.
"Wengya, Katana! Paano kung natamaan mo ang maganda kong mukha?! Saka akala ko ba pwede nating huthutan ng impormasyon ang hipon na 'to?!"
"Nevermind. We have a lot of ways. Might as well get rid of the annoying one."
Hindi ko na siya hinintay sumagot at lumabas na ng opisina saka nagsimulang maglakad sa paraang hindi kahinahinala. There were just a few people around. Some were looking at me. I did not mind throwing anyone a glance. I was walking as if I didn't give a damn to anything when the truth is, I was hyper alert of my surroundings. I was aware of every pair of eyes, every ear and every word around me.
[Meron nalang tayong isang oras]
Everyone probably heard Mikaela's announcement. She's still in the entrance, disguised as a female guard. Siya naman ang umasikaso sa pag-alis ng grupo so when she says we only have one hour then we only have one hour.
“Emerald. Update.” I spoke.
[I'm inside the facility chamber na future sis. I'm looking for the right tube nalang]
As for Emerald, she had to go inside of the building as well to get the explosives we originally own. Kasama na pati yung blue print ng mga design na 'yon na si Kayden naman ang nagmamay-ari. William's Corp. really do have stinky secrets beneath their crème de la crème models.
“Duchess.” Muling pagtawag ko.
Tunog muna ng pagkasa bago namin narinig ang boses ni Duchess. [Meron nang ilang nakakita sa akin. Pero wag kayong mag-alala, nalinis ko naman na agad. Malinis ang vicinity ng William's Corp. pero kailangan nang umalis ni Mikaela sa post niya. Mukhang sumusobra na sya sa bilang na dapat]
[Ge, tityempo lang ako] Agad namang sagot ni Mikaela.
“And Amber?”
[Tapos na akong linisin ang katawan ng hipon at ng matandang hukluban. Sa kasamaang palad, namantsahan pa ang Alexander Vicerus 98 sandals ko]
[Katana? Your status] Lindsay.
I took out my phone at saka nagsalita nang hindi maging kahina-hinala. Just in case some people will look. "I'm on my way."
[Where exactly are you?]
I looked around and saw one of the signs saying I was in the 43rd floor so I told Lindsay about it.
[Aha. Nakita na kita. Wait, I'm going to track your path] Narinig ko ang pag-ikot ng swivel chair at ilang pagtatype sa kabilang linya bago muling nagsalita si Lindsay. [Uh-oh. You have to prepare your weapons, Katana. Sa pagpasok mo palang sa hallway ng high guarded facility ay mayroon nang mga nakaabang. At alam nila ang hitsura ng VIPs sa Williams Corp. na pwede lang makapasok dyan so technically speaking, you can't cross them in a normal way. And Katana. You can't take 'em all down. Kung bare, pwede pero armado sila] Nagclick ulit sya bago nagsalita. [Mikaela. Duchess set up another distraction. Magbibilang ako ng tatlo para sa oras ng pagtakbo mo paalis dyan. You gotta help Katana. I'm pretty sure, kaya nyo nang dalawa 'yon. Pero susunod pa din ako]
The process of Mikaela escaping from her current post started. Just like earlier, Duchess assist her with the help of Lindsay. Meanwhile, I focused on proceeding to my mission. Sumakay na ako sa pinakamalapit na elevator at pinindot ang pinakamataas na floor kung nasaan ang high-guarded facility ng buong main building ng William's Corp na sya ring nagsisilbing puso nito.
I was alone inside the elevator. I can hear nothing but the voices in my earpiece. Based on what I hear, mukhang nasa proseso na ng pag-alis si Mikaela. Nakaalis na siya sa post niya nang hindi gaanong napapansin sa tulong nina Lindsay at Duchess at ang kailangan nalang niyang gawin ay palitan ang suot na uniform bilang gwardiya upang hindi maging kahina-hinala sa loob.
She said she has entered the right room to change her outfit when suddenly, I heard a loud bomb explosion from the other line. Napahawak ako sa paligid ng elevator nang maramdaman ang pagyanig saka ako napatingala nang kumurap ang ilaw. What the hell was that? I gulped. Are they alright? May nagkamali ba sa amin? Damn. I closed my eyes. I have to maintain my composure to keep a clear thinking. This has been planned. We have to proceed to another plan.
I held my earpiece device. "Everyone, status." They should be alright. I know.
[Still alive!] Masiglang sagot ni Amber. Seems like she was far from the explosion.
[Buhay pa 'ko] Mikaela's update.
[Perfectly fine. Pero yung building hindi] Two seconds of pause of Duchess, probably looking through the sniperscope of her rifle. [34th floor, northern west side. The explosives facility chamber has exploded] Sabi niya na halos kasabay namang sinabi ni Lindsay na sa mga CCTV naman malamang nakatingin.
Fuck. Emerald was assigned in explosives. Explosion wasn't part of the plan. I took a long sigh to calm myself before decided to speak. "Emerald Blood, update."
We all heard silence. Seconds of silence. I started getting nervous. Lindsay's loud sigh and Duchess's silent curses were heard. Mikaela tsked and Amber broke the ice that has been building up.
[W-Wengya, Emera---]
[I-I'm okay lang, future sis and ate Amber!] Parang halos lahat kami nabunutan ng tinik nang marinig ang boses ni Emerald. But she was panting. Seems like she's running. [I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to detonate the bomb naman eh. I just encountered a foe. I'm sorry talaga!] Gunshots and bouncing things was heard from her background.
I sighed. This is our very first mission as the Black Organization. Emerald Blood is not a bomb expert. She's a gun expertise. So it's understandable for her to commit this kind of mistake. Blaming her or anyone wouldn't help. All of us have to deal with it. I analyzed the situation in the short time of span. Their current update and the probable reaction of the corporation must be according to our prepared plans. I was in the middle of thinking when the lights inside the elevator suddenly turned to red and the whole building started beeping to alert everyone that there are intruders.
I cleared my throat and ordered everyone. "We should proceed to Plan A3. All of you must still remember it. This has been planned." I bit my tongue and took the knives hidden in my belt and put it on my hair. Any moment now, pwedeng bumukas ang pinto ng elevator at hindi ako pwedeng macorner. Kinuha ko rin ang dalawang pistol sa hita ko at inihanda ang sarili ko habang nagsasalita. "Amber, move and cover Emerald. She's probably injured. Emerald, secure your safety first. Lindsay, follow Mikaela and I. We would be in a rough battle at the top. Listen. They don't know our number yet. The explosion doesn't mean we have to reveal ourselves. That should be at the finalé as planned. However, you can now play this game the way you wanted." The last line means I’m now giving them their license to kill. Nilagyan ko ng silencer at magazine ang dalawang baril na hawak ko saka ito itinutok sa nakasarado pang pintuan ng elevator. "Last one thing. We are a team. Remember that."
Saktong pagkasabi ko ng huli kong linya ay ang pagbukas ng elevator. Bumungad sa akin ang di mabilang na mga armadong lalaki. Mukhang hindi sila nakapaghanda na dito ang elevator kung saan ako lalabas dahil sa dami ng elevator. I wasted no time and started shooting. All in head. Saka sila nagpaputok pabalik. That was when I moved and my reflexes automatically made me dodge the bullets while running to escape from the explosive rain. I started creating an enjoyable fast pace momentum. My heart was pounding hard because of excitement. Some men were attacking me. I had to fight by the use of my leg.
"Dammit!" I can’t help but curse when I received one solid blow from a guy. I wasn't able to shield that one because I was shooting.
Another guy managed to shoot me in my stomach. I was wearing a bullet-proof vest but the impact still made me step backward. That was when I lost the momentum. Shit. I thought, matatamaan na ako sa parteng delikado nang may sumigaw.
["KATANA. YUKO!"] I heard Mikaela's yell both from distance and from the earpiece device.
Mabilis akong gumulong at napahalf-bend knee para iwasan ang alam kong gagawin ni Mikaela. As if on cue, sabay kaming nagpaputok. I was half-bend knee, raising both of my hands which were holding pistols that I use to shoot all the standing enemies. Mikaela was standing strong in the other end, holding two heavy machine gun in her hands and shooting multiple rounds at the men standing between us. To make the situation more in favor to us, mula sa labas ay nagpapaputok naman si Duchess at tuluyang nabasag ang bintana na dinadaanan naman ng mga bala mula sa rifle na malamang ay mula kay Duchess. The next thing I knew, umulan na ng bala sa pagitan namin. All the standing guys tried to shoot, shield themselves and escape but no one managed to survived. In the span of five minutes, their cold corpse laid on the floor bathed in their own blood.
Tumayo ako mula sa pagkakahalf-bend knee at pinaikot muna sa daliri ko ang dalawang long pistol saka ito isinuksok ng sabay sa pad na nasa hita ko. That was when I looked at Mikaela who was walking towards me in her black fitted outfit--which I was wearing before this office suit--while swaying the heavy guns she was holding. Tulad ko ay puno rin siya ng talsik ng dugo.
Ngumiti siya sa akin. "Kat, angas mo na sana kanina kaso..." tiningnan niya ako mula sa ulo pababa ng paa. "..naka-office suit ka. Pfft."
"Psh." Sumiring ako. "Just because you're wearing the appropriate outfit didn't mean you can say that." I glanced at her. "I'm wearing bullet-proof vest, pads and so basically, I'm still wearing the appropriate one." Saka ako tumalikod at nagsimulang maglakad. I could feel my cheeks blushing hard. Now that I think of it, this is the same office suit Amber wore during her mission which is seduction and I just wore it during a battle! That half-bend knee pose was very wrong! Dammit.
Narinig ko ang paghalakhak ni Mikaela habang sumusunod sa akin. "Chillax lang, Kat. Di ko alam kung dahil ba sa talsik ng dugo o sa hiya 'yang pamumula mo eh." Saka uli sya tumawa. Sumunod do'n ay ang kantyawan naman ng iba pa sa kabilang linya na lalong nagpainit sa tenga at pisngi ko.
[Wengya! Parang naiimagine ko si Katana na nakataas ang dalawang kamay na may baril. Kitang-kita ang maganda mong hinaharap do'n Kat!] Amber said followed by a laugh.
Lindsay chuckled. [I saw it live in CCTV girls. Kung pwede lang sanang kumuha ng copy ng footage eh!]
[I can't imagine Katana wearing a seduction outfit in an action battle! Pwedeng magpakwento?! Hahaha!] Duchess said while laughing.
Then, Emerald. [Oh my. I'm sure Kuya Azure and Kuya Cody would be willing to leave their mission para lang makita si Future Sis in that scene!] And her annoying witchy laugh followed.
Mabilis kong hinugot ang dalawang baril, kinasa at pinaputok sa kaliwa't kanan sapat na dahilan para bahagyang mapatalon si Mikaela at tumahimik silang lahat. "Why don't we just proceed before I run out of patience?" I said with gritted teeth.
Everyone cleared throat or faked a cough.
[Ready na yung escape route natin] Duchess, back in her formal tone.
[Ate Amber and I are on our way na din po routine A86. We will be the one to stop the others na makapunta pa sa top floor para pigilan kayo] Emerald, back in her business tone.
[Mikaela and Katana. Just prepare. As I've said, meron nang nakaabang sa itaas. Lalo pa't naalarm na ang buong building] Lindsay's warning, back in her serious tone.
Psh.
Lakad-takbo kami parehas ni Mikaela sa ilalim ng maingay at nagbiblink na red florescent(?) nang marating na namin ang pinakamataas na floor. We were both holding our guns while looking around to check the enemies. The whole floor was in silent--by silent, the thing were the continouos beeps in telecom and the blinking red lights which is a way to alarm the building that there are intruders--until we reached the hallway to the high-guarded main facility. Sumalubong sa amin ang mas armadong mga lalaki na doble ng dami ng kanina naming kasama. At mukhang mas matalas ang senses nila dahil agad nila kaming napansin. Napatakbo kami ni Mikaela sa magkabilang direksyon at halos sabay na nagsimula ring bumaril pabalik habang umiiwas sa mga nala.
Mikaela was cursing while shooting. "Anak ng! Ba't kaming dalawa lang ni Katana dito? Ano? Mukha na ba kaming wonderwoman para talunin 'tong mga 'to nang walang galos?!"
She's right. Masyadong marami sila dito. Armado pa sila. Samantalang kami ni Mikaela? The only weapons we have were our guns and flashbangs. And yeah, my knives. I took out a flashbang, cut its wire and threw it to them. Mabilis namang sumabog ang usok nito at naging advantage namin ni Mikaela para pumwesto.
[Uh. Kaya nga sabi ko, susunod ako eh. Hehe. I-a-assist ko lang palabas sina Amber at Emerald] Agad namang paliwanag ni Lindsay.
[Saka andito naman ako!] Singit ni Duchess saka tumawa. [Abot pa kayo ng perimeter ko] That was when Duchess started shooting from the outside. Nababasag agad ang salamin mula sa labas na tumatalsik din sa mga armadong lalaki.
I continued shooting until I ran out of bullets. Mukha namang may tyumempo sa akin at bigla akong sinugod. I immediately pull out a knife from my hair and threw it straight to his forehead. Ganun din sa pangalawa at pangatlong umatake. I yelled to Duchess, 'Cover' which allowed me to hide and load my gun in a few seconds.
Nang muli akong bumalik sa posisyon ay si Mikaela naman ang humingi ng cover mula kay Duchess para rin lagyan ulit ng bala ang dalawang machine gun niya. When we both had our guns loaded, Mikaela and I managed to get into a momentum that allowed us to turn down almost all of them. When the guys dropped down to countable number, Lindsay finally arrived.
"HEEEEY!"
I wanted to roll my eyes nang makita ko syang tumatakbo palapit sa amin habang ikinakaway ang kaliwang kamay at ang isa naman ay may dala-dalang laptop na meron pang ilang wires at kung ano. Mikaela and I shot our last opponents before we turned to her with bored eyes. Nang tuluyan naman siyang makalapit ay alanganin nalang siyang napangiwi.
"Uhm. I guess, ganiyan talaga kayo kagaling. He-he." Pilit na ngumiti si Lindsay.
Umangat naman ang isang sulok ng labi ni Mikaela. "Tsh! At talagang dinala mo pa 'yang laptop at wires? Kapatid ka ba ni Raven, Lindsay?"
Tumawa naman si Lindsay. "No! Anak ako ni Jacob Lee!"
"What can we use that for?" Ang tanong ko nalang para putulin ang usapan nila. She can't tell me she brought that just because she want to because I'm seriously gonna smack this girl if so.
Ngumiti naman siya. This one, a good one. Tapos nauna na siyang maglakad papunta dun sa main facility na sinundan naman namin. The door was a hard round-shaped metal with a small circle on my height. Nilingon niya ako.
"Katana. The lense."
Oh. Kinuha ko sa bulsa ng suot kong office suit ang contact lense kung saan naman ikinopy ni Amber ang iris ni Mr. Okuda na siyang originally ay may access dito. Isinuot ko naman agad ito at itinapat doon sa maliit na bilog sa pintuan. A red laser scanned the iris for a moment. A few seconds after, the door beeped and opened.
Bumungad sa amin ang isang malawak na kwarto. It was almost empty when we are going to minus the table at the end. It was just a room with a table to sum it all up. But then, to get there, you should first deal with the lasers served as the wall.
Napasipol si Mikaela habang nakapameywang at tinitingnan ang kabuuan ng kwarto. "Alam kong nasabi sa meeting na puro laser 'to pero di ko inaasahang gan'to katindi."
Nilingon ko si Lindsay. She looked at me and gave me a wink. Umupo siya sa sahig at inilapag doon ang laptop niya. Then she connected the wires on it to the facility's monitor which was glued on the wall. When I turned to Mikaela, my eyes widened upon seeing her. Lumulusot na siya sa mga laser! What the hell?
"Careful! They move!" Lindsay yelled when she discovered what Mikaela was doing.
And she was right. Nang magsimulang lumusot si Mikaela ay nagsimula ring gumalaw ang mga laser. Mikaela cursed and almost fell down out of shock. Nadaplisan ang suot niyang leggings maging ang maikli na nga niyang buhok. She looked at us and discovered what Lindsay was doing. Mukhang noon lang niya napagtanto ang use ng laptop na dinala ni Lindsay--to deactivate the laser. I sighed. So, she didn't know Lindsay was planning to deactivate the laser security which is exactly why she got herself into it.
"Lindsay! Ba't di mo agad sinabi?! Pakibilisan naman oh. Baka mamaya dito pa ako makalbo, lintek." Mikaela complained while trying to dodge the moving lasers.
I looked at Lindsay's laptop. There was a weird code there. A sort of columns of black and white. Then, she opened a command prompt, typed a few commands, clicked enter and then she cutted some wire. In an instant, bigla nalang nawala ang mga gumagalaw na laser sa buong kwarto. Para namang nabunutan ng tinik si Mikaela at pawis na pawis na bumagsak sa sahig.
When Lindsay confirmed it was safe, I immediately walked towards the table at the end of the room. Sumunod naman si Lindsay at Mikaela sa akin at tiningnan din ang malawak na mesa. There, all the stolen actual design, blueprints, original copy of transactions, vaults and such were laid. These are all the things William's Corp. has been hiding. Marami-rami din pala silang kumpanyang pinagnakawan.
Black Organization is here only to get our properties back. But the information here would also be useful. Not in a way that we are going to steal it like William's Corp. but to take advantage of the companies that are involved here. So we kept it all. Hinawi ko ang lahat ng nasa pinakagitna ng mesa, mapa actual na model o papel. Nang maging malinis ito ay humakbang ako paatras ng tatlo na ginaya naman nina Lindsay at Mikaela. Kinuha ko ang dalawa kong pistol at nagsulat sa lamesa sa pamamagitan ng pagpapaputok ng bala.
"They should know who to deal with the next time." I muttered and blew the mouth of my gun.
"That's what you call a masterpiece of a mafia." Natatawang sabi ni Lindsay nang makita ang ginawa ko.
Black Organization was clearly written on the table in the form of bullets. I smiled and asked Lindsay to show us her laptop. Inilapag niya 'yon sa mesa at pinakita sa akin ang CCTVs. I was looking for Amber and Emerald but I couldn't find them.
"Emerald and Amber. Status." I ordered.
["You're looking for us ba talaga, future sis?!"]
["Tumingin dito ang gustong masilaw sa kagandahan!"]
I heard their voices both from afar and from the earpiece device. Napalingon naman kaming tatlo nina Lindsay at Mikaela sa pinanggalingan ng boses nila. They were walking towards us wearing their black fitted outfit in their own fashionable walk with their long hair and swaying guns. They really are in fashion even in battles.
"Now. Duchess is the only one left out." Sabi ko nang makalapit silang dalawa sa amin.
["Magpapahuli ba naman ako?!"]
We all heard Duchess voice both from afar and from the earpiece device. Nang sundan naman namin kung saan nanggaling ang boses niya ay nakita namin siyang nakahawak sa isang lubid na animo'y si Tarzan at patalong bumagsak sa mataas at malaking bintana ng kwartong siya mismo ang bumasag kanina gamit ang pamamaril. She stood there while holding a boquet of rope she rode into and the rifle she probably used.
"Sayang! Ako lang ang nasa labas buong misyon!" Halos ngumusong sabi niya.
Tumawa naman si Amber. "Pa'no kasi, bawal ang manang dito. Wengya, hanggang sa pagpili ng outfit, ang old-fashion mo eh!"
"Amber!"
Emerald laughed. "Grabe ka kay ate Duchess, ate Amber. Don't you think you should comfort her instead kasi di sya nakasama sa atin?"
Mikaela shook her head. "Pang matanda naman kasi talaga yung piniling damit. Minana mo pa yata yan kina Tita Cassandra eh."
"Kung pang matanda yung kay Duchess, yung sayo naman eh panglalaki, Mikaela. Minana mo naman yata kay Tito Andrei." Natatawang sabi naman ni Lindsay.
Naputol ang pag-uusap nila nang biglang makarinig kami ng putok. Agad kaming napalingon sa pinagmulan no'n at nakita ang isang batalyon ng mga armadong lalaki mula sa labas ng entrance na naglalakad papunta sa amin. Lindsay immediately clicked something on her laptop which caused the door to close and hindered the bullets from the guys.
"Wengya naman! Pati maganda, pinapaputukan!" Amber yelled.
"Pagod na ko ah! Tara na nga!" Sabi naman ni Mikaela.
"Yeah. We should really go." I simply said and started running towards Duchess who was still standing on the window.
"Here are your ropes!" Salubong ni Duchess saka inabot sa amin ang boquet ng ropes na hawak niya. Isa isa naman kaming kumuha at nagsipagtayo sa bintana para pumwesto.
The moment the armed back-ups barged in, we are all already set. Nang lumingon sila sa direksyon namin ay nakita ko na nasa pinakaunahan pala nila ang anak ng may-ari ng William's Corp. at COO nito. He was furious and ran towards us.
"YOUUU PIECES OF SHIIIIITS!" He yelled and immediately shoot.
Wala namang sumagot sa amin. The only reply he received was our loud laugh that annoyed him more. At bago pa sila makalapit at makapagpaputok ng asintado ay sabay-sabay na kaming nagpatihulog nang hawak ang sari-sarili naming tali habang patuloy na tumatawa. The poor young man who was mad and furious couldn't do anything but try to shoot us from that shattered window as the rope which was connected to the airplane just a few feet above us fly us away from that place along with the wind.
