Poetry #40

fear of light

eyes greeted by the broad daylight,
vessel found on water shrinking,
though the owner was ironically no affright,
still, his vessel ended up drowning.

the bright rays from the sun were blinding,
so it was soon covered by the blue liquid.
no orbs then were pained by rays gleaming
yet nothing makes sense by being hid.

the absence of air and presence of water
could he bear and decide to remain under
his fear of blazing sun keeps him suffocated
fine if it’s the underwater that’ll turn him dead

for to him, the huge star burns his skin
whilst water keeps him, from bruise, clean.
might as well depart in his chosen placidity
rather than live in a yet unknown agony.
